Round one kicks off with Carlton and Richmond facing off in their iconic clash at the MCG on Thursday night.

After an impressive comeback win against Brisbane, Carlton enters the match with soaring confidence, eager to secure only their second victory in the last 12 traditional round one encounters with their arch-rivals.

Meanwhile, Richmond, under new coach Adem Yze, had a shaky start to the season but showed improvement in the second half against Gold Coast. However, they’ll need a stronger performance from their midfield to contend with Carlton.
