The 2021 Brownlow Medalist is shaping up to be one of the closest races in recent memory. There are arguments to be made for Port Adelaide superstar Ollie Wines, contested beast from the Demons Clayton Oliver and the superstar skipper from the Western Bulldogs in Marcus Bontempelli. There isn’t a wrong suggestion amongst these three.

We believe that by round 16 Marcus Bontempelli should have amassed enough votes to cater for the slightly down final 8 weeks for the year. We do respect how close this will be so recommend a light stake on this as a result.

Top 5 Finish

A massive year from midfielder Darcy Parish earned him his first All Australian jacket. He was an enormous contributor to the Bombers this year. Was in the top 5 picks for the Brownlow for a majority of the season. These odds are far too good to not have him in a top 5 position.

Top 5 Finish:
Pick: Darcy Parish

T. Boak v Z. Merrett

Ladbrokes currently have Travis Boak listed as the outsider in the one-on-one with Zach Merrett. Whilst there may not be a lot of difference in each players final vote count, looking at the pure numbers there’s no reason Travis Boak shouldn’t have this one.

Market: T. Boak v Z. Merrett
Pick: T. Boak
Odds: $2.50 – Odds thanks to Ladbrokes
Stake: 1

Brownlow Group - Group B

This group is an interesting one. We have the following players. C. Mills (SYD), D. Zorko (Bris), M. Gawn (Melb), A. Brayshaw (Fre) and D. Martin (Rich). The only challenger to this we see is Dayne Zorko, who will suffer from having too many teammates steal votes and whilst the same can be said about the eventual winner, the sheer number of games this man influenced should have him on top.

Brownlow Group – Group B:
Pick: Max Gawn
Odds: $4.50 – Odds thanks to SportsBet

Individual Player Over/Under

Whilst ineligible for the 2021 Brownlow Medal, you can still bet on particular players to poll over or under a certain number of votes. This man is simply undeniable. Having had such an underrated season we can see him polling at least 24 votes. There would be a controversy on our hands if Gold Coast had won more games as we truly believe he could’ve had the medal won. We know how the count is influenced by the result of W/L.

Market: Touk Miller Over/Under 22.5 Total Votes
Pick: Over 22.5
Odds: $1.60
Stake: 2

Top 10 Finishes

We were mindblown when we saw these odds for Cam Guthrie. He has had a severely underrated season in a team that finished third on the ladder. The reason we believe he will finish top 10 is simple. There won’t be a lot of other players fetching as many votes for Geelong as Cam and with the number of games they won, these odds can’t be looked past.

Market: Top 10 Finish:
Pick: Cam Guthrie
Odds: $5.50
Stake: 2

Jack Macrae leads the competition for disposals in 2021, the most important part about this is these will attract votes and having won the second most games of any team up until the final month of the season he simply must finish in the top 10. These odds are far too good to look the other way.

Market: Top 10 Finish:
Pick: Jack Macrae
Odds: $1.85
Stake: 0.5
